Production and Quality Evaluation of Herbal Tea from Moringa Leaves and Lemon Peel Powder

Tea is one of the most widely consumed beverages in world next to water. It made from tea leaves Camellia sinensis. Herbal teas on other hand, are variants not sinensis but plants, herbs, roots and plant extract. This study therefore, investigated quality acceptability herbal dried Moringa lemon peel powder. were 100% leaves, powder blends ratios 50:50, 30:70 60:40. A total five formulations obtained. Using standard analytical methods, proximate composition, vitamin content, phytochemical contents, chemical sensory properties all investigated. Results obtained compared control which was Lipton Yellow brand tea. The result composition revealed that formulated, favourably with (Lipton tea). contents formulated relatively high control. samples showed contained significant levels alkaloids, phenols, flavonoids phytates. generally accepted preferred over concluded thatherbal has therapeutic potentials nutritional value therefore can thrive commercially market.
